From July 23 to 30, 2019, we took part in the 420 European Youth Championship in Vilagarcia. Vilagarcia is located on a large bay in Galicia in northwestern Spain. The sailing area in which the regattas took place was rather demanding due to the wind conditions and current. Two races were planned for 6 days of competition. The first 5 days could be sailed daily in good wind, only on the last day there was no race due to lack of wind. So a total of 10 races were sailed. Unfortunately we did not get off to a good start in this championship, the first three races were not optimal for us. On the following days, however, we were able to increase our performance again and have good results in the run-in. After all the difficulties we achieved 11th place out of 40 participating boats in the overall ranking and were able to finish the European Championship and thus the season well.
