At the end of our season and the sailing year 2019, we took part in the winter regatta in Imperia (Italy), which took place around the Santa Claus weekend from December 5th to 8th. We started the event with pre-training in good wind. Unfortunately, the wind slackened at the regatta and so only 4 races were sailed with relatively little wind. Another challenge in addition to the weak wind was the start of the entire male field of 83 boats in a fleet, which made it very tight at the start line. Ultimately, after the four races, we were able to finish the regatta in 9th place as the best German team. In general, Imperia is always worth a trip this time of year. Now we are looking forward to Christmas at home and winter with lots of snowboarding and skiing as well as some relaxation after a long sailing season.
